Natural Resource Preservation and Conservation Projects

Leveraging nearly three decades of experience, our projects include valuation of high-amenity natural resource property in transaction matters, valuation of easements and partial interests, conservation easements, land swaps and gifts.  In tax-credit cases, the IRS has consistently accepted our valuation work for many years.

The Hearst Ranch at San Simeon – One of the most frequently visited sites on the spectacular coastal highway of California , the Hearst family turned to Greenfield Advisors for preservation-conservation valuation of 83,000 acres of the surrounding ranch, including two-and-a-half miles of untouched Pacific shoreline.

The Cook Ranch – Greenfield Advisors advised the owners and potential investors of this site, considered one of the best remaining paleontology finds in North America .

Farnsworth House – Designed and constructed by Mies van der Rohe this seminal work in modern architecture is an all-glass house, making for an unusual valuation for Greenfield Advisors. This architecturally significant property was conducted for a non-profit, in anticipation of acquisition.

Utah National Parks and Monuments Inholdings -- Greenfield Advisors provided a highest and best use analysis of over 400 sections of inholdings within Utah ’s National Forests and National Parks. Sites included unusual formations, scenic amenities, and Anasazi ruins located in Arches National Park , Dinosaur National Monument , and Capitol Reef National Park .
